FACE TO FACE, VIDEO & TELEPHONE COUNSELLING APPOINTMENTS

All prospective clients receive a free 20 minute telephone consultation.

Asking for help to make changes in your life is never easy but you have started the process by beginning your search for counselling.

All of us experience difficulties as we go through life and it can be really beneficial to work through our struggles with a trained Counsellor.

It is important that you choose the right Counsellor for you, because it is the therapeutic relationship and the connection between you and your counsellor which will bring about effective and meaningful therapy.  For that reason,  I offer a free telephone consultation so that you can find out more about how I work as a Counsellor and I can assess whether my skills match your requirements before we agree to work together.*

* There will be no agreement to provide counselling until the initial consultation/assessment has taken place and the working contract has been signed by the client and the counsellor.

HOW DOES COUNSELLING HELP?

Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you with empathy and without judgment and responding with honesty while you explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours which are troubling you.  The counselling process can help you to understand those thoughts, feelings and behaviours better and find your own solutions and ways of coping.  It can help you to make changes and improve your emotional wellbeing.  What you talk about in counselling is confidential, which is vital for the growth of the counselling relationship and so that you can feel safe to explore your deepest feelings. Your counsellor will explain any legal or ethical limits to that confidentiality before your counselling begins.
